How to watch the Oscars in your car or truck
A little something extra to get you through the cold winter days of January, it’s the Oscars: The Watch for Women.
The Watch is a new program from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, created in partnership with the Womens Film Society.
It’s a platform that allows users to watch and share content from their phones and other digital devices while they are in the car or on the road.
“We’re bringing the best women-driven storytelling to the screen,” said Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs.
The program was created to give women filmmakers access to a platform where they can connect with audiences, and to make sure they have access to the most exciting new projects coming out.
On the Oscars stage, the nominees are presented by actress Maggie Smith, who is a frequent viewer of the Oscars.
Watch for Women will be available starting Jan. 26 on the Academy website, and will be made available on the Watch for women app starting Jan 30.
